I think it depends on the type of BK you filed for... was it Chapter 11 or 7? I believe the rules are that a 7 stays on your credit report for 10 years and an 11 stays on for 7.

At any rate, you can get your free credit report and see if it's showing on there. Even if it is, it may not be the reason. Lending is pretty tight across the board right now. Have they sent you a denial letter yet? That should have some detail.

Thank you for the response. It was chapter 7. So it looks like I have another 3yrs before it is removed. I pulled up my free credit report and then payed for all three. It still shows on all three. My credit score shows 727 for all three. One thing I did notice was experian and transunion both show our old house mortgage. It shows we have 29k left with a 302 per month payment. Both as being curent. Experian shows we still owe the money but transunion shows the balance is 0. Could this hurt my credit rating? I called my bank but they said they didnt' show anything. It was over 7yrs ago.

Yeah that could affect your scores, but I'm not sure it would hurt it since it is showing as current. It could affect your debt-to-income ratios when you apply for credit, however.

Couldn't hurt to get discrepancies cleared up.
