This is a non-standard situation for many reasons. I will try to list all the relevant information but please let me know if additional info is required.

My girlfriend recently realized her father was no longer paying student loans that were in both of their names. These loans included federal and private loans. She was able to successfully contact all but 3 companies using the contact info from the credit report.

She has not been able to make contact with the owner of the MRU debt. MRU is the now bankrupt MyRichUnlce student loans division of the also bankrupt MRU Holdings. The phone number listed is disconnected. There are other threads/questions on the web with people having the same issue, but no clear solution.

Her father and/or his records are not available to us.

The credit report list MRU as the loan and after hours of phone time with them they can't provide additional info on who is reporting the loan to them.

We have searched this subject, MRU bankruptcy docs looking for who bought the debt.

If anyone has any additional info it would be most helpful, but at this point I feel i have exhausted my resources.

What service or professional could i use to help me track down the new lender??
