    Default Renting A House

I'm posting this here in the hopes that someone can shed some light on this for me. I don't have the best credit and when I try to rent an apartment I get turned away time and time again. My credit report is on it's way in the mail so hopefully I can get a better idea of why this keeps happening. What I'm wondering is, in the case that my credit can't be repaired overnight, what kind of options do I have for getting a place of my own? My income is steady and can be verified. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Not all rental units/landlords look at your credit report. The immediately obvious answer is to find one that won't look at your report. Other than that, you could try credit repair which might help some. Another option might be to offer an extra month's rent upfront or just ask the landlord/manager under what terms they'd be comfortable renting to you.

Yeah - go to small places that are owned by independant landlords instead of big complexes.
