Dear Friends,

I need your advice. Back one year ago I stopped going to a doctor for therapy. My insurance paid the doctor. I made co-payments every time I went to see the doctor. Recently I received a letter from a collection agency asking me to pay over $1,000. I called the doctor's office and they told me they had sent me invoices but I never received anything. I asked them to send me the bill again. When I went over it I realized they were charging me for co-payments that I made to them every time I visited the doctor and for many appointments that I didn't even make. I told them the bill was not right but they wouldn't even listen to me because my account had already been sent to collections. I don't feel I owe them nothing. The credit agency calls me at work often and threatens to sue me. I told them the bill is not right and they say they don't care. What should I do? I don't feel I have to pay for something that I don't owe but I don't want this derogatory information to stay in my credit bureau records for seven years....

This is creating so much anxiety...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Jordi
