    Default ID Theft category added

    Hi everyone-

I decided it was time to create a new category for us to talk about identity theft, since it is so closely related to personal credit and money.

This is a serious issue that is becoming more and more prevalent.

Let's talk about ways to prevent Identity Theft and if it happens, ways to go about recovery.

I look forward to learning a great deal from you all!

Let's get started then! My top tips are:

    - Check your credit report regularly, if you spot it early identity theft is easier to deal with.
    - Shred your mail rather than just throwing it in the trash.
    - Check your bank and credit card statements for unfamiliar transactions as soon as they arrive.
    - If you move home, ensure your mail is forwarded to your new address.
    - Don't carry personal documents around with you, e.g. passport or driving license.
    - Never share personal infomration with friends or family.
    - Be careful about which websites you use.
    - Use anti-virus software to protect your computer.
