Default Financial Advice - Auto Loan

I'm needing to jump into a vehicle in the next few months. My initial budget was $27k financed, but I've decided to knock that down to $25k out the door.

    Current financial situation:

Fixed Income: $3100 takehome (after taxes, 401k, benefits)
Flex Income: 2 side businesses, est generate $15k a year (randomly)

    Bills:

    Rent: 780
    Water: 15
    Gas: 65
    Electric: 50
    Credit Card 1 (0% int): $140
    Credit Card 2: Zero Balance
    Credit Card 3: Zero Balance
    School loan: $200
    Cable: 54
    Insurance: 125

    Left over: $3100 - 1429 = $1671

    Bills eliminated:

CC 1 and 2, Motorcycle payment (was $130 a month), motorcycle insurance (65 a month), cell phone (88/mo, company has given me a phone).

I'm doing good. Credit history is perfect, but I had a low score last time I checked (just recently paid off 4k in credit cards and paid off a motorcycle).

Please advise. I'm thinking of car payments under $500 a month at less than 6.5% interest.

How long does Bank of America and Chase, as well as a Credit Union, take to update my credit?

    Looking at my equifax....

    Chase CC: 1/2011
    BofA CC: 1/2011
    CU: 1/2011

I want all these to update (hopefully for March 1), so I can purchase in a few short weeks...

Whats typical? Can I call and have them update? Does equifax take awhile to update?

Creditors typically report after 30 days but not always.
