    Default Starting from Scratch..Need help!

    Hello!
I was hoping someone might guide me through this process. I have suffered from horrible credit for the last few years (long story--self inflicted of course)....
however, I have paid most of my old debt down and left with a few cards(in good standing) with small balances and 1 car payment (which will also be paid off soon). Due to a major issue with my escrow, I fell behind on my mortage, wasted way too much time trying to refi-loan modification and ended up selling my home at the beginning of year as I found an eager buyer (a traditional sale, not short). Now, I used a credit repair service from Dec through July and did not see the results I wanted..I know they were able to get some old things removed but I did not see the score improve(the lates on the mortgage I suspect)..and it was very expensive!
The reality is some of the data is accurate(old charge offs that I ended up paying to collection agencies)and I am not sure if there is anything I can do..although some are past SOL in the state of TX..I realy think I am getting slammed due to the late status of my recent mortgage which was paid in full.
Here is what I want to do:
-I want to do what the credit repair company did--I have access to mycreditkeeper.com and
-Is there any way I can get that mortgage company too remove the late payments?A letter or something??I was told that this is killing my score also
-Can I request a collection agency to delete their report if I pay them?? how??

I know I can dispute accounts with all three bureaus but is that all is there to it??
    Thanks
Any help will be greatly appreciated..I just hate that I am almost debt free but still have this aweful stain on my credit report..btw my scores are around 520 still...

A pay-for-delete letter is the most standard way to have a collection/etc removed by paying off the debt in full.

As for the mortgage lates... disputing details of reported data is your primary tool. If that doesn't work, you may just need time since it is already paid off.

As you go through this on your own, it'd be great to hear what you learn about and what ends up working for you.

You might also get some ideas from other posts here as a lot of people have shared some great info that could apply to you as well.

    Good luck!
