Default Sent pay for delete letter certified

Thanks to the advice from this board - I sent out a 'pay for delete' letter to:

    Universal Fidelity -- debt collector

Who I originally owed $800 to HSBC. I offered to pay Universal in full if they deleted the info from the 3 agencies.

I sent the letter via certfied mail and I have the reciept.

In my letter I gave them 14 days to respond.

It's been about 3 weeks, how long do I wait for a response?

What do I do if don't hear back?

This is the last item I need removed, but I could call them and pay it but my understanding is that wouldn't help my score nearly as much as a deletion.

krypto - it coudln't hurt to call them up for a follow up. see what they have to say and then tell them to mail you something in writing before you pay.
