    Hi everyone
    I'm new to the forums but found it very interesting and hope to get the answer and help

    Is is true that the original credit grantor could not be remove or deleted from Credit Report only the CA that collect can remove itself once agreement have been reach or both will be remove once you settle the account with CA. thx for help

    For the most part it's true and here's why. The law states you are entitled to fair and accurate credit reporting. If you're referring to a "pay for deletion" technically, that is not "fair and accurate" and an original creditor (visa, bofa, chase etc) does not want to get involved in deleting trade lines. A collection agency however, are typically just interested in your money, not so concerned with their reputation and may be willing to "bend the rules" if its profitable for them.

    my understanding is that credit reference agencies only report what is given to them by creditors. if there is a mistake, the creditor normally has to inform the credit reference agency to amend or remove the entry from your credit report.
