    Default Paid for deletion....not deleted????

Hey everyone, longtime lurker, first time poster. Here's my story. I pulled all 3 reports recently and through the painstaking process of calling up collection agencies, managed to coax a few of them into pay for deletion letters. I received the letters via fax only to find out a couple months down the road that 2 of these debts were still on my reports, only with an updated "paid in full, closed" status. Now... I still have these 2 agencies' letters stating that they will delete all information with the bureaus. My question is, what now? Should I send these letters to the bureaus now? Should I send them back to the CA's? I'm afraid that if I send them to the bureaus it will be me admitting to the debt thereby making it possible for a deletion. I say this because I've read that nobody can delete accurate negative information off a report. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Great question - I'm curious to hear the answer to this one too. My guess (and yes, total guess) would be that going to the collection agencies first would be okay, demanding that they hold up their end of the bargain. Have you followed up with them at all? Maybe they just need some pressure (or a friendly reminder)...

    Default WHAT!!!??

No I haven't followed up yet. I'm going to call and speak to the gentleman that prepared/handled my file and ask him what the deal is. Oddly enough, 1 of the collect.'s has fallen off. My score has gone from a 575 two weeks ago to a 643 as of today's pull. I am STOKED! Don't get me wrong, there were a couple other things that fell off with the pay for deletes I did but man! I had no idea it would be this quick. I actually got my very first unsecured credit card yesterday, I'm 29 years old. lol. Here's to all of us bettering ourselves.
