Thread: Lien Question

After reviewing my credit report I have a lien that has been satisfied/paid. This lien was from a neighborhood/friend. He is willing to help me get it out of my report since I already paid him. What does he needs to do to help me? I apologize if this question has been posted. This is my first day.

I'm a bit confused... is it a lien on your house? Those usually don't show up on a credit report. Do you mean a judgement?

Either way, if it's been paid he can contact the bureaus and inform them that it has been paid/satisfied and even request that it not be reported anymore.

Sorry for the confusion. It is a civil claim judgment. The total amount was $499 and it has been paid. It is for a storage place I rented for a while. The owner is willing to go to the court and and do whatever it takes to help me remove it. What does he has to do or say when he goes to court. My report states that this item will remain in my report until 2014.

Man, I think this one is going to be tough to get removed. I'll defer to the credit repair experts but if a judgement is recorded I think you might have the best luck just getting it paid officially (on record).

Perhaps a dispute would work, but I'm doubtful that the owner can have the courts remove the official record.
