    I am a divorcee of two years. Right after the divorce, my ex bought up a new car and other things on his own. He then filed for Bankrupty 3 or 4 four months later. I got a CC in my name(right before divorce) in my married name not maiden, because the divorce wasn't final. Now I go to change it over to my maiden name and a balance xfer, I get a letter stating that my Int rate is goin up to 24% The

    the car & bankruptcy would only affect you for accounts that you shared jointly and were included in the bk.
