Hospital Collections
Hey All,
I'm new to this so i appreciate any input. i just recently decided to start repairing my credit.
There are a few hospital collections on my report($150 etc.) They are a small amount, but all it says is "collection" ,"medical" and nothing specific. Should I just write to the bureaus and request that they be taken off immediately if they cannot be verified? Thanks!

Sounds like a great starting strategy, Joe. Let us know what happens.

I literally just did a big push to repair my spouse's credit recently. Most of the negative files were medical accounts. They were also very small amounts.
We called the CAs, paid the debt (even though they were at least three years old), and got mixed results.
The first CA said that the OC could get it removed completely. The OC was compliant. Awesome, right? Nope. We were disappointed to learn that the parent company to the CA had a strict no-removal policy. We disputed it, and it has been removed from one CRA so far.
The second CA volunteered to remove it before I got the question out of my mouth. They held true to their word.
In both cases, the updates to the CR have taken less than three weeks!
What I would have done differently and will do with the remaining CA is a PFD letter. Good luck!
