I checked my credit with creditreport.com, when I moved into my duplex. My landlord required a credit check, and I was told that this would not affect my credit score and would be free. I don't think it affected my credit score, because my credit score is slightly better now than it was then. (I have been working hard to better my credit
) And it was free aswell, but you have to remember to cancel it after you get your report. I forgot and got charged later, but I just called them and they refunded my account.

Online consumer reports do NOT leave hard inquiries. You as the consumer can pull your report online as much as you want without it impacting your score. HOWEVER the scoring models are not FICO's scoring model so the scores will always be a bit off. Only financial insitutions or places approving you for credit are allowed access to REAL fico scores.

So you want your real credit scores ran? For what purpose? If you run your credit for no reason you get hit for no reason. Are you trying to get approved for something? Home? Car? I don't do loans. I'm a board certified credit expert. Do you have a purpose for repairing your credit? Like purchasing a home or car? If so, I can recommend a mortgage broker near your area, but You can't just have someone run your credit because you are curious as to wha tyour scores are.

Mossi and CreditRepGal are right, you don't get penalized for checking your own credit report. It only makes a difference to your credit score if too many lenders check it.

In the UK there are three credit reference agencies... Experian, Equifax and CallCredit. You can order a credit report from all three and they all currently offer free credit reports online when you subscribe to a 30 day free trial of their credit monitoring services. Each credit reference agency offers slightly different services so it's worth doing a comparison to make sure you're getting the right one for your needs before subscribing.
