Discover with 3200 balance closed out
I just settled a Discover card account. It had a $3200 balance and I settled it for around $1300. I asked if it could be removed from my credit report after it is settled and the agent on the phone told me that it will remain on my report for 13 years. I have heard of 7 years, but this 13 thing seems very excessive. Is it true that I will have that account showing on my report until 2021?---

False it is 7 years. And dispute it anyway with the credit agencies. Be specific in your disputes and dispute everything on the discover trade line. IF you were late on 4/2005, 5/2005/,6/2006 dispute it saying was not late on those specific dates. Dispute the date opened, dispute the date closed. Disputing everything will make them do their work and they will probably just remove the items insted of actually verifing
