Debt validation sent back with only name and address
I sent a debt validation letter to a debt collector. Got a return letter with my name, and address as validation. It was not on any letter head and I responded by demanding VALIDATION of the debt and not verification of name, address, etc.I gave them 30 days to respond and letter was sent certified. I have received nothing back. What and how should I demand that all references to this debt

That is all they have to send your name, address, amount owed, and name of original creditor. Now if they take you to court that might be a different story. Also if they cant verify they probably will just leave you alone but still send you letters and still report on your credit report. Your best bet would be to do verification with the credit agencies. And be specific. Do not use not mine. i.e. If on your report the CA says account was opened on 4/2003 write date opened wrong account was opend 4/2002. Dispute as many things on the trade line as you can. Make them really verify. This method works great.
